A Centering Thought
“A checkbook is a theological document; it will tell you who and what you worship.” ~Billy Graham
Call to Worship
Leader: What a mighty God we serve! Let us give praise to the Lord of all creation. Rejoice and celebrate the goodness of the Lord with me.
Congregation: God is alright!
Leader: Remember the people who have gone before us. Ancestors, friends, preachers, teachers, and prophets have told stories about the goodness of the Lord, even though many of them had few material possessions. They lifted praises and gave glory and majesty to the Lord who sustained them.
Congregation: God is alright!
Leader: There is none like you, Lord. Mighty are your works!
Congregation: God is alright! Praise be to God on high who is worthy of all glory, honor, and majesty!
Hymn of Praise: “Standing on the Promises”
Verse 1: Standing on the promises of Christ my King, through eternal ages let His praises ring; glory in the highest, I will shout and sing, standing on the promises of God.
Chorus: Standing, standing, standing on the promises of Christ my Savior; standing, standing, I’m standing on the promises of God.
Verse 2: Standing on the promises that cannot fail, when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail, by the living Word of God I shall prevail, standing on the promises of God.
Prayers of the People: “Jesus Is a Rock in Weary Land”
Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a weary land, a weary land. Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a shelter in the time of storm.
Koinonia: A Care-Full Community (Koinonia is the New Testament word for “fellowship.”)
Offering: We give with open-handed generosity because when we give, we are most like God.
Offertory Song: “You Can’t Beat God Giving”
You can’t beat God giving, no matter how you try. And just as sure as you are living, and the Lord is in heaven on high. The more you give, the more God gives to you, just keep on giving because it’s really true that you can’t beat God giving, no matter how you try.
Prayer of Thanksgiving: We thank you, Lord, for these gifts. Amen.

Invitation to Discipleship and Membership
*The Invitation to Discipleship and Membership takes diverse forms at The Open Church. Feel free to present yourself to our community during this time. You also may acknowledge your desire for commitment to God and membership in our congregation to any of our ministerial leaders during the
fellowship hour after the worship service.
Invitational Hymn: “What Shall I Render?”
Verse 1: What shall I render unto God for all God’s blessings? What shall I render, (tell me) what shall I give? God has everything; everything belongs to God. God has everything; everything belongs to God. What shall I render, tell me what shall I give?
Purpose Pledge: We live on purpose. We love on purpose. We lift on purpose.
Closing Song: “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow”
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow. Praise God, all creatures here below. Praise God above, ye heavenly host. CREATOR! CHRIST! AND HOLY GHOST!
Verse 2: All I can render is my body and my
soul. That’s all I can render. That’s all I can
give. God has everything; everything belongs
to God. God has everything; everything
belongs to God. What shall I render, (tell me)
what shall I give?
