Gregory Murrill is a Baltimore native. He grew up, in Catholic faith, in a relatively large family (i.e., four siblings and parents) in West Baltimore. Gregory graduated from Baltimore’s Carver High School in 1982 and attended Morgan State University for his freshman year and later transferred to Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he received a Civil Engineering degree in 1986.
After college, Gregory returned to the Baltimore area to begin his professional career and pursue an advanced engineering degree that he received in 1991 from Howard University. He resided in Baltimore’s Bolton Hill community where he attended Douglas Memorial Church and met then Senior Pastor Dr. Brad Braxton and other current members of The Open Church.
In April 2016, Gregory married Erica Marie Jarrett, PH.D. Surrounded by family and close friends, the ceremony that took place in Baltimore was officiated by Dr. Braxton. Today, Gregory and Erica (who is originally from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands) live in Silver Spring, Maryland with their child-like Peekapoo (i.e., Pekingese-Poodle) dog.
Outside of the demands of his now 26-year career with the U.S. Department of Transportation and investment/rental property management, Gregory enjoys spending time with family and friends, travel, health & wellness, and adventure (e.g., skiing, boating).
